Pauline Johnson (1861-1913) is a Canadian poet/performer of Mohawk and English descent. She mesmerized audiences across Canada, the Northern Unites States, and England. Pauline was a courageous woman who defied convention and dreamed her life into reality.

Muriel Duckworth (1908-2009) is a founding member and national president of the Canadian Women’s Peace Organization and Voice of Women (now Canadian Voice of Women for Peace). She worked for peace and justice, focusing on the concerns of women and children. Her message: Peace is the Way.

Sylvia Stark (1839-1944) is one of Canada’s first black pioneers and the personification of resilience. She arrived in the wild woods of Salt Spring Island, British Colombia in 1860. She raised six children, while working and eventually owning her 200-acre farm.

Dame Cicely Saunders (1918-2005) is the founder of modern hospice and palliative care. She started a worldwide movement providing compassionate care for the dying. This is a riveting story of a tenacious woman whose remarkable vision of death and dying shaped our world.

Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) is a fiercely independent visionary artist who dove “into her own unknown.” She came to life in her beloved New Mexico and remains an icon of artistic and creative expression.
